Your support is also vital to our community outreach. Recent data shows the area in which the Anne Spencer House & Garden Museum is located, is in the highest concentrated area of poverty within the City of Lynchburg. During the early 20th-century, the Pierce Street neighborhood was home to well-respected, working-class and upper-middle-class people who worked in the surrounding mills, schools, and businesses. In addition, several outstanding individuals made national and international history in the fields of education, arts, aviation, health, and sports.
